How to calculate interior volume

For a box, multiply length × width × height. For a cylinder, multiply π × (diameter ÷ 2)² by the height. This square feet-to-volume math is the same formula used for square feet volume calculators — just add a third dimension.

Frequently asked questions

Multiply your square footage by the height or depth of the space. If you already know the floor area, enter it as length × width = 1, or use the box shape with your known area as length and width.

One cubic foot holds about 7.48 gallons. The result panel converts automatically once you've entered dimensions.
