Estimate only — pour in thin layers (under 1/4 in / 6 mm at a time) to avoid overheating and cracking.

How epoxy volume is calculated

Volume = surface area × pour thickness. We convert that to fluid ounces (or milliliters), then split it by your resin-to-hardener ratio — 1:1 by volume is common for tabletop and casting epoxy, though some formulations use 2:1 or 3:1. Always check your specific product's mix ratio, since using the wrong ratio can leave epoxy permanently soft or tacky.

Frequently asked questions

Multiply the tabletop's area by your target coat thickness (1/8 in is typical for a single coat) — enter your dimensions above for an exact resin and hardener split.

Most tabletop epoxies are only rated for thin pours (around 1/8-1/4 in per layer) — thicker single pours generate heat as they cure and can crack, yellow, or never fully harden. Deep pours (river tables) need a specific deep-pour formulation instead.
