How dilution ratios work

A ratio like 1:10 means 1 part concentrate to 10 parts water — 11 total parts. To fill a specific total volume, divide it by the total parts to find the size of one part, then multiply by the concentrate parts and water parts separately.

Frequently asked questions

It means 1 part concentrate mixed with 10 parts water, for 11 total parts. Enter those two numbers above along with how much finished solution you want.

Enter 1 for concentrate parts and 4 for water parts. For every 1 part concentrate, add 4 parts water — for a 1 fl oz (30 mL) dose, that's 4 fl oz (120 mL) of water.
