Get cubic feet from length, width, and height — or convert a known square footage into cubic feet with our sq ft to cu ft mode, handy for boxes, bins, and storage volume.
Estimate only — assumes a uniform height across the full area.
Cubic feet is a volume — square feet is only an area. To go from one to the other, multiply your square footage by a height or depth. A 120 sq ft room with an 8 ft ceiling holds 960 cubic feet of air; a 120 sq ft garden bed filled 1 ft deep needs 120 cubic feet of soil.
Multiply the square footage by the height (or depth) in feet. Switch to the "From square footage" tab above and we'll do the multiplication for you.
It depends on the box — measure length, width, and height in feet (or inches divided by 12) and enter them under "From dimensions."
